On December 1st, I was among people invited by Dr. Poh Tan to her SCIE 202: The Natural Sciences course in Emily Carr University of Art + Design. For their final project for the Fall semester, students were tasked in creating a pop-up exhibit that challenges them to innovate a public science outreach storytelling piece aimed at engaging the audience on a scientific topic of their interest while bringing their creative passion into the creation.
As a designer who grew up in a STEM education background and now working in the realm of design, I was more than happy to help provide feedback to student projects from the intersection point of view of both disciplines. As guests, we were given the role of a visitor coming to experience their project as if attending a public exhibit about science, art, and education.
