Transcribe to Survive uses a tabletop escape room approach to introduce or reinforce understanding of transcription, translation and protein structure and function. Students collaborate to encode and decode information stored in DNA, RNA and proteins to unlock boxes and catch a villain.
Level: Grade 12 | Duration: 45-60 min.
Comic book villain Dr. Mercer is modifying bacteria to produce deadly protein poisons. Students must work together to explore, find patterns and solve a variety of puzzles to advance a narrative and ultimately escape the evil clutches of Dr. Mercer before time runs out.
